Collaboration

When conducting group work within the class, the peers that have looked at my pieces of writing have given concise and valuable comments and responses in order for me to improve. When conducting group work and improving each other’s pieces of writing, we pass it around to a different person so that at least two different people can personally see it. I like to read their pieces of writing to myself, and give personal comments on the paper itself. I like to give concise comments and also helpful questions that help the person come up with the solutions to their problems themselves.

Although, sometimes, I do not directly use the revision guides, I do look at it for what I should be looking for when revising someone else’s piece of writing. Because of this class, I do believe that I am now a little more qualified to look and evaluate someone else’s paper.

Group work, for the most part, was silent, unless we were all finished in reading each other’s paper. That is when discussions amongst peers began and every had started to help each other, beyond the words they had put on the paper. The social aspect of the group work helped me, personally, ease the tension of making friends and socializing in class. It is very much a welcomed break from lecture, actually helps make lecture more engaging because it allows us to put what was being told to us in action.
